Description
Various actors have addressed the debate on child labor from their perspectives. So much so that a thick legal regulation has been consolidated in the country, in order to eradicate this situation, which still continues to present itself today. Not to mention the consolidation of international agreements and regulations. All this has as a common factor, a construction of discourse and approach from the perspective of adults, and specific ways of relating to the different forms of work, that is, from decontextualized and generalizing readings. From Social Work, is of great importance and is transversal with the ethical commitment, open the panorama of construction and reflection with the subjects who live directly the phenomenon, working children. Breaking up with merely paternalistic visions that do not know the capacity and need to conceive the boy and the girl as participants in the construction of the sopial, political and economic realities of the country, from their interpretations and what it means to be a working child. As for the motivations that drive the completion of this writing, I identify the need to share what I have been able to unlearn, learn and build with working children in the market square of the Villa de San Diego Ubate. As my interpretations regarding them, the phenomenon of child labor and the possibilities of accompaniment from Social Work, which finally leads to a deep reflection on myself as a person and as a professional, they offer new meanings to the analysis of the identified scenario.
