| Summary: | This investigation has as objective to describe some of the possible existing images m relation to the “nuevos ricos'" actually, and therefore, define some criteria to think about who this social actor ir, and what role does that play in Colombian society today, specifically in the city of Bogotá. With the desire of understand q reality that is so close, but also less known, this text is the result of field work done with a group of young people, who have a good social and economic position, thanks to different mechanisms that their families used aiming to give them better life quality.
La presente investigación pretende vislumbrar algunas de las posibles imágenes existentes en relación a los "nuevos ricos" en la actualidad, y así lograr definir algunos criterios para pensar sobre, quién sería este actor social y cómo se posiciona dentro de la sociedad colombiana hoy en día, más específicamente en la ciudad de Bogotá. Con el deseo de develar una realidad tan cercana pero a la vez tan poco conocida por la sociedad, este texto es el resultado del trabajo de campo realizado con un grupo de jóvenes que goza hoy en día de una buena posición socioeconómica, gracias a los diferentes mecanismos que sus familias usaron para poder brindarles una mejor calidad de vida.
