Rickettsia es un género constituido por bacterias intracelulares obligadas, que pueden causar enfermedades severas al humano, incluso la muerte. En el año 2008, se detectó en Toluviejo, Colombia, una persona seropositiva a Rickettsia, sin embargo existe poca información acerca de la seroprevalencia en este municipio. El propósito principal de esta investigación es estudiar la seroprevalencia a Rickettsia del grupo de las fiebres manchadas y su relación con variables sociodemográficas, en habitantes de Toluviejo, Colombia.
