Summary:Currently, the importance of implementing large-scale projects in Colombia is highlighted with the aim of improving travel, boosting the economy and reducing poverty. These projects require a solid infrastructure and the use of pre-stress cables to guarantee greater load capacity. durability, resistance and optimal performance in constructions, with this premise the design and construction process of prestressed structures is briefly described, including the installation of ducts and the injection of grout that meets the characteristics specified in the standards. The deficiencies and problems of prestressing cables are also mentioned, such as low ductility, susceptibility to corrosion, wear and loss of strength. Finally, the importance of applying grout is highlighted as a crucial measure to mitigate these problems, but the lack of standardized recommendations and design guides is mentioned, which makes its effective implementation difficult, which is why the need to establish clear and specific guidelines is highlighted. for grout design, in order to guarantee the durability and efficiency of structures against corrosion and its effects on structural capacity.
