DESCRIPCION El proceso de donación de órganos, es entendido como la remoción de órganos o tejidos del cuerpo de una persona que ha muerto recientemente o de un donante vivo, con el propósito de realizar un trasplante, debido a la falta de reconocimiento desde la disciplina de enfermería nace la necesidad de analizar, identificar e interpretar la identificación de los roles de enfermería en el proceso de donación de órganos de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Médica de la Clínica San José de Cúcuta. La investigación será cualitativa porque permitirá comprender el rol de enfermería en el proceso de donación de órganos y analizará la teoría contextualmente congruente con el entorno, donde se entrevistarán a 5 enfermeras profesionales que laboran en el área de donación y Trasplante de órganos en la Clínica San José del Municipio de Cúcuta del departamento Norte de Santander. Con esto, se logrará analizar la experiencia y conocimientos de las enfermeras entrevistadas con relación a las actividades y acciones que desempeñan en este proceso, y su participación en actividades de captación de donantes. El rol asistencial ejerce tareas de asistencia al profesional a partir del momento que ocurre la denuncia de un potencial donante, de allí parten todas actividades internas para el proceso de identificación y la procuración de los órganos, ya que son las principales etapas en las cuales según esta investigación participa el profesional de enfermería.
