La adicción a internet se presenta en mayor medida en población joven y adolescente, presentando compromisos anatómicos y funcionales en lóbulos prefrontales, encargados del correcto funcionamiento ejecutivo. Esta investigación describe los correlatos neurofisiológicos de las funciones ejecutivas que se evidencian por medio de técnicas de neuroimagen en personas con adicción a internet por medio de una revisión sistemática exploratoria. Se evidencian compromisos en algunos de los componentes de las funciones ejecutivas como control inhibitorio/impulsividad, control cognitivo/flexibilidad y planeación. (Tomado de la fuente).
